Belonging to My School

Download this 16-slide PowerPoint at the start of a new school year, or after, to help develop children’s understanding of what it is to belong to a community.  This PowerPoint is a useful assembly or PSHE resource and can be used to foster empathy with others as it reminds us that we all have an important part to play in making a happy and successful school.  Encourage children to think what it means to make people welcome, how people may feel as they start at school and what it means to belong to a community.  Using the analogy of a jigsaw this PowerPoint will promote discussion about what it means to belong to your school, what part they can play and what lies ahead as you work together to create a new jigsaw this year.  The PowerPoint concludes with a reflection and school prayer.
