Download this 32 slide ‘Sukkot’ PowerPoint and 4 page Sukkot Story booklet to help children understand about Sukkot, the Jewish harvest festival that is celebrated for eight days during September or October.  Learn about Sukkah (the huts made of branches, leaves and fruit made for the festival), lulav and the citrus fruit etrog and find out how, during the festival of Sukkot, Jewish people remember the story of how God and Moses looked after his people, providing food when it seemed that none would appear.  Read the 2 part story (Crossing the Red Sea and Food in the Wilderness) to your class and help them answer the question ‘Can you see any connection between the memory of hardship in the desert, God’s mercy in providing food and prayers for a good harvest?”
